This morning, I woke up early and couldn’t fall back asleep. Since the rest of the family is still sound asleep, I decided to write a last-minute post. The last few weeks I have been bringing in holiday style into my daily looks. I have loved playing with the colors red and green! Here are a few of my looks over the last few weeks. If you are looking for some outfit inspiration for the next few days hopefully you can find some here! There are may different looks from casual to dressy. Most of our gatherings are casual so I will be leaning more towards those looks. It is always fun though to dress up a casual look with a little bling! What will you be wearing for your holiday gatherings?
This holiday season I seem to be drawn to red and green! I have looked back at my Instagram feedover the last few weeks, and it is all I have worn! I think this is the first holiday season I have worn these colors as much as I have! In keeping with my red theme I decided to see if I could style this buffalo plaid dress from Shein for work. Nothing says Christmas more as buffalo plaid!

I absolutely fell in love with this dress when I received it from Shein. The fabric is thicker which is perfect for our cold winter. The quality of this dress is really well done, and the fit is perfect. For reference I got a medium in this dress.
To mix up the look of this dress I decided to try some pattern mixing. I could have gone with my normal mix of leopard and buffalo plaid, but I decided to try mixing two different plaids. I liked how the larger window pane pattern mixed with the smaller buffalo plaid. What made this work was the difference size of patterns and colors. The black tied the whole look together, but the white helped make it stand out. I cut this scarf in half to make sure that it did not feel so overwhelming. You can read here how I cut my blanket scarves.
To finish off this look, I wanted to wear these fun boots by Same Edelman that I got last year. I love the fun pattern on the back along with the studded design. It helps create an edge to any look, plus they always get me so many compliments! I have also received a few snide remarks if they are used as a weapon.
I definitely want to try this dress again with leopard pieces since it is such an easy way to pattern mix. How would you wear this dress?
Anyone else surprised by how much they love florals? Up until the last year or so I was never a huge fan of florals. Once though I found ones I liked there was no turning back. I have florals for summer, spring, and fall. When I saw this dress from Outer Grace Boutique I fell in love with the winter colors that this dress offered. The print is gorgeous and not over powering. My favorite part about this dress is the pockets! Any dress or skirt that has pockets I have a hard time resisting.

As with most dresses that I wear I added a long cardigan. This one is from Outer Grace too. They have the best selection of cardigans of all lengths, colors, and patterns. This one is a high low style that is a gorgeous burgundy color. I love these cardigans so much I have one in mustard yellow and red also. You can see how I styled them on Instagram!
For work I tend to gravitative towards dresses and leggings. They are so comfortable and still look great. I find dresses even more comfortable than jeans. I know some people absolutely love jeans and would rather wear them than anything else. Ever since we have been able to only wear jeans with spirit wear at work I find myself only wearing jeans on the weekends. A lot of times on Fridays I find myself dressing up instead of dressing down. Does anyone else feel this way?
Tulle skirts are a fun way to introduce a whimsical look into your wardrobe. They are the perfect piece for a special evening or event! They can be worn during every season and are classic. Tulle skirts can also be styled to fit your personal style! Ever want to try a tulle skirt, but wasn’t sure how to style? Here are three ways that I styled this grey tulle skirt from StyleWe!
This first look was inspired by many hours of watching Downton Abby while sick last week. I love all the furs, hats, and feminine looks that are worn! This would be perfect for a Holiday gathering or Christmas Eve Service. I love all the feminine touches that this outfit has! What is better than tulle, leopard, and fur? If the fur is too much, then add touches of burgundy to give your look a festive feel.
This next look is a lot more casual. I wanted to style this skirt in a way that would help keep me warm with our Indiana winter. I paired the tulle skirt with this chunky plaid sweater for warmth and a more relaxed feel. I love the look that the plaid adds to a rather monotone look. It gives a little dimension while keeping the look cohesive.
This last look is probably my favorite of the three! There is a simple elegance about this that makes me want to wear it over and over! The black turtleneck with a little bit of sparkle brings an Audrey Hepburn feel! During the holidays you can’t go wrong with tulle and sparkle! How would you style a tulle skirt?

This past weekend hubby and I celebrated 12 years of marriage. We celebrated Saturday evening with dinner out and a little Christmas shopping! I always have troubles figuring out to wear for a date night. I really wanted to dress up with heels and a skirt, but the weather wasn’t cooperating. It was freezing Saturday evening so I decided to try a new look I had been wanting to experiment with. I wanted to try pairing my Free People tunic with a pair of distressed denim. Here is what I planned to wear for our evening.
My first look was super simple. I love the lace details of this top and the feminine feel. Since we were going shopping I decided to go with pointed toe flats that dressed up the look a bit. Of course, I had to bring out my new leopard clutch from Simply9Designs! It was perfect for our evening. I kept the accessories simple so that the focus was on the top and clutch. Once I went out to snap pics though I realized that it was chillier than I thought.
I decided to add a chunky knit cardigan and exchange my flats for a pair of booties. I’m not a huge fan of wearing coats when I know I am going to be shopping. It is usually one more thing I will have to carry! This cardigan was the perfect weight for the trip to the car to the mall!
I kept my accessories the same! I thought the necklace and clutch helped dress up my look just a bit! Which look was your favorite?
