I feel like it has been forever since I have done a Work Wear Wednesday Post! When I wore this look a few weeks ago I knew I wanted to dedicate a post solely to this outfit. There are so many things about this outfit that I absolutely love that I couldn’t wait to share it with you! Unfortunately, life got crazy and I am finally getting around to it!
I found this faux fur vest right before Christmas at Von Maur and I knew I had to have it. When I first found it though it was a bit more than I wanted to spend. My waiting paid off and I needed up getting it for less than $40! After searching on Pinterest for some ways to wear this vest, I realized that I did not have a black swing dress! Insert horrified gasp here! I couldn’t believe that I didn’t have one.
When I think of closet staples a black swing dress always comes to mind. My friend Amanda, also known as @abc_mom_style, found these amazing short-sleeved swing dresses on Amazon. They fit perfectly and they even have pockets! I mean come on any dress that has pockets is a must in my book! I ended up searching to see if they have a long-sleeved version and I was so excited to see that they did! At less than $20 you cannot go wrong with this dress! What is a closet staple for you?
Each year I look forward to seeing what the new fashion trends will be. Every site has a different idea of what will be in for the upcoming year. I have been working on this post for quite a while cultivating a list of the top fashion trends for 2018. Some of the trends are carried over from 2017, and I have to say that I am not mad about it! Many of the lists I found for the top trends had different items listed, but I choose trends that kept reappearing to focus on! I would love to hear what you think about the ones that I have chosen to include! Are you loving or hating the year’s trends?
Anyone else surprised by how much they love florals? Up until the last year or so I was never a huge fan of florals. Once though I found ones I liked there was no turning back. I have florals for summer, spring, and fall. When I saw this dress from Outer Grace Boutique I fell in love with the winter colors that this dress offered. The print is gorgeous and not over powering. My favorite part about this dress is the pockets! Any dress or skirt that has pockets I have a hard time resisting.

As with most dresses that I wear I added a long cardigan. This one is from Outer Grace too. They have the best selection of cardigans of all lengths, colors, and patterns. This one is a high low style that is a gorgeous burgundy color. I love these cardigans so much I have one in mustard yellow and red also. You can see how I styled them on Instagram!
For work I tend to gravitative towards dresses and leggings. They are so comfortable and still look great. I find dresses even more comfortable than jeans. I know some people absolutely love jeans and would rather wear them than anything else. Ever since we have been able to only wear jeans with spirit wear at work I find myself only wearing jeans on the weekends. A lot of times on Fridays I find myself dressing up instead of dressing down. Does anyone else feel this way?
When we were in Disney a few weeks ago we went to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Last year, I was surprised by the amount of adults in costumes! I decided to dress up this year, and brought pieces from home that could be interpreted as a Snow White costume. While hubby and I went on a day date to Disney Springs we decided to do a little shopping. In one of the shops we found the cutest Disney inspired dresses. Hubby talked me into buying this adorable apple dress! If you look closely you will see the dwarves faces in the apples! I am so happy that I got this dress! I received so many compliments, and even received an A+ on my dress from a Disney employee. Hubby needed up talking me into getting this dress and another one that I can also wear to school. I am excited that we are having costume parade this year so I can wear one of these fun dresses again! Would you dress up for Halloween at Disney?
As a teacher school spirit wear is an integral part of our district dress code. On Fridays, we are able to wear jeans if we wear it with a school top. As a lover of jeans, I usually look forward to these casual Fridays. I dislike though always having to wear a tee. I have set out find a formula that helps make any tee a little more fashionable. I have found three pieces that can add a little extra pizzaz to any t-shirt in your closet.

Add a Cute Jacket or Cardigan
This is pretty much my solution to dressing up just about anything. I don’t know what it is about a cardigan that makes any top in my closet look dressier. Our school colors are purple and gold so this mustard colored cardigan from Outer Grace Boutique is the perfect addition to my closet! It pairs perfectly with most of my school tees. Plus it is the perfect length for dresses and tunics too!
Add a Statement Necklace
Adding a little sparkle to any tee makes it feel a little more special. This can be a statement necklace with crystal stones or a simple piece that makes a statement all on its own. I find that adding accessories can dress up any look and makes me feel a little more put together.
Add a fun pair of shoes
Shoes can add another layer of style to any tee. Depending on what style you choose will dictate how dressy your tee looks. A fun pair of slip on sneakers will be more casual or to dress up a tee add a pair of booties or cute flats! If you are a teacher you need to check out MsHeadofClass2 on Etsy and her adorable pencil shoes! They are incredibly comfortable too!
