Loft Fitting Room…February 2018

I was able to sneak into Loft this past weekend!  I had accidentally ordered double online trying to get free shipping.  I had read on What Jess Wore how to get the amount you needed for free shipping down to $50.  You can read about the tip here.  I was excited because the total of the 2 items I wanted was $54.  I have been trying very hard not to buy things just because.  I had added a ton of items to my cart previously to get the free shipping, but once I refreshed my history it had all disappeared. I then added everything back to my cart, and when I hit confirm order I found that everything I had added previously was there.  So I ended up with a  much larger order.  On the bright side of things I was able to try a few items on that I had been eyeing!

One of the reasons I love Loft is the quality of the brand, and the sales!  They currently have 40% off starting today so you can bet I am ordering the few items that I really wanted from last weekend!  Use code HAPPY at checkout!

This is actually one of the tops that I ordered online.  I have gained a few pounds this winter and I am not between a small and medium in tops.  I couldn’t decide what size I wanted so I went ahead and tried the medium on in store.  I liked how the medium fit.  It was a little looser, and I thought it would look great with black pants or shorts.  This top will transition beautifully from winter, to spring, and into summer!

This is the only sweater that I bought in store.  Loft wasn’t having a great sale so I decided to wait on the few items that I wanted.  Sweaters though were on sale and I couldn’t pass up this yellow one.  Again, I thought it would be great to wear now and into spring.  I have a pair of palazzo pants that it will look great with!  My store only had a medium in stock. I think though a small would have worked too!

The next sale that Loft has this beauty will be coming home with me!  I love this lace top so much!  I think it will be darling with pants or a skirt!  I tried on a small here and it fit perfectly!

If I didn’t already have so many striped tops this one would definitely be ordered in the next sale!  I love the tie detailing at the wrists and it felt perfectly.  For reference I am wearing a small.

I am currently debating this top!  I loved the fabric and print.  It reminded me of a perfect spring tunic!  What do you think?  For reference I am wearing a small.  What do you think about this one?

This is the other top that I am currently debating. I love the colors and prints so much!  Plus the small bell sleeves at the wrist make it wearable with a cardigan!

I have been eyeing this sweater for a few weeks!  I haven’t been able to pull the trigger though on it quite yet.  I am happy I was able though to try it on.  It was a tad shorter than what I normally like my sweaters.  If you have a shorter toros you will love this sweater!  I am wearing a medium In this sweater and feel like that it fit perfectly.

Work Wear Wednesday 11.18.17: Buffalo Plaid

Outfit Details || Dress: c/o Shein || Scarf: Similar || Leggings: Loft || Boots: Amazon || Earrings:  Kendra Scott ||

This holiday season I seem to be drawn to red and green!  I have looked back at my Instagram feed over the last few weeks, and it is all I have worn!  I think this is the first holiday season I have worn these colors as much as I have!  In keeping with my red theme I decided to see if I could style this buffalo plaid dress from Shein for work.  Nothing says Christmas more as buffalo plaid!

I absolutely fell in love with this dress when I received it from Shein.  The fabric is thicker which is perfect for our cold winter.  The quality of this dress is really well done, and the fit is perfect.  For reference I got a medium in this dress.

To mix up the look of this dress I decided to try some pattern mixing.  I could have gone with my normal mix of leopard and buffalo plaid, but I decided to try mixing two different plaids.  I liked how the larger window pane pattern mixed with the smaller buffalo plaid.  What made this work was the difference size of patterns and colors.  The black tied the whole look together, but the white helped make it stand out.  I cut this scarf in half to make sure that it did not feel so overwhelming.  You can read here how I cut my blanket scarves.

To finish off this look, I wanted to wear these fun boots by Same Edelman that I got last year.  I love the fun pattern on the back along with the studded design.  It helps create an edge to any look, plus they always get me so many compliments!  I have also received a few snide remarks if they are used as a weapon.

I definitely want to try this dress again with leopard pieces since it is such an easy way to pattern mix.  How would you wear this dress?

Christmas Bucket List and Simple Holiday Style

Outfit Details || Coat: c/o Shein || Necklace: Similar || Top: Similar || Boots: Similar || Pants:  Similar ||

This past fall, I was at a friend’s house for a get together.  I noticed she had made a fall bucket list with her boys, and there were so many fun things listed.  I loved the idea of listing out what we wanted to do so we didn’t forget them!  Yesterday, I sat down with the boys and asked them what they wanted to make sure to do during the Christmas Season.  Here is their list:

  1.  Make Christmas Cookies
  2. Build a Snowman
  3. Go see the Christmas Lights at the Zoo
  4. Have a sleepover
  5. Go see a movie
  6. Christmas Shopping for the other brother

Our list is nothing special, but I want to make sure that the boys get to do all of these things.  Today, we made Christmas cookies so we can now mark this one-off of our list.  What is on your Christmas Bucket list?

I’ve been on a huge holiday kick lately when it comes to my outfits.  I think I am drawn more this year than any other year to red and green.  I have been trying to find new ways to bring these colors into my daily looks.  I got this grided coat from Shein and I couldn’t wait to style it.

The quality of this coat is really nice.  I really like the weight of the fabric.  It is perfect for layering and worn all day long on a cold winter day.  It would also work well as coat in the cooler spring and fall months.  This coat fits tts, for reference I got a medium.

I wanted to go for a monochromatic pattern mixing since it is such an easy way to mix prints. I decided to go with a pop of color with my pants for a bolder look.  I also liked that the red brought in a holiday vibe that wasn’t over the top.  To finish off this look I decided to add gold accessories and a belt.  I love how the belt helps define my waist and gives it some structure.

Work Wear Wednesday 12.6.17: The LBD

Outfit Details || Dress: c/o Outer Grace Boutique || Scarf: Similar || Boots: Amazon || belt: Similar || Bracelets:  c/o Keira Nicole Jewelry ||

The little black dress is a staple in every women’s closet.  I love ones that can be dressed up or dressed down depending on the occasion.  When I found this dress from Outer Grace Boutique I knew that I had to add it to my closet.  What drew me to this dress was the sleeves and overall fit.

After seeing my sweet friend last week in her little back dress with cognac accessories I wanted to do the same!  There is something about black and cognac that is so classic.  I love how timeless that the combination can be.  To make this dress work appropriate I decided to add a pair of ankle booties and bow belt.  To finish off this look I decided to add my leopard scarf and some bangle bracelets.

For an evening out or for a Christmas party I would keep this look simple by adding a pair of heels.  For a black dress I love to pair black, red, or leopard heels.  The red and leopard are a perfect pop if that is what you are going for.  To finish off this dress I would add a statement necklace.  For a night out simpler is usually better!  How do you like to style your little black dresses?

Let me Introduce you to Ruby

Outfit Details || Dress: Karina Dresses || Cardigan: similar || Sunglass: Sunglass Hut Outlet || Shoes: Macy’s ||

This past week I returned to work after a long glorious summer home with my boys.  I needed easy and comfort for this week since the transition is usually a little rough.  It was even harder this year since I sent my youngest off to kindergarten.  I didn’t think I would cry, but I can’t lie I shed quite a few tears.  I decided to make this week easy to get ready by wearing dresses all week.

.

Let me introduce you to Ruby.  She is in my mind the perfect dress from Karina Dresses.  There are so many reasons why that she is my favorite.  Ruby is always ready to be worn and never has wrinkles.  She makes you feel like you are put together, yet is incredibly comfortable.   Ruby is unassuming, and figure flattering for most body types!  The faux wrap style gives you the look of a classic wrap dress without all of the hassle.  The sash at the waist helps enhance your curves in all the right ways.  Ruby is also perfect for a day at the office or an evening out.

The simple geometric print is full of rich fall colors.  The light purple and cream help make this dress perfect to transition from summer to fall.  It looks perfect with a pair of summer flats and a lightweight cardigan.  I can’t wait to try wear it in the fall with tights and boots.  What is your go to style on crazy weeks?
