This past fall, I was at a friend’s house for a get together. I noticed she had made a fall bucket list with her boys, and there were so many fun things listed. I loved the idea of listing out what we wanted to do so we didn’t forget them! Yesterday, I sat down with the boys and asked them what they wanted to make sure to do during the Christmas Season. Here is their list:
Make Christmas Cookies
Build a Snowman
Go see the Christmas Lights at the Zoo
Have a sleepover
Go see a movie
Christmas Shopping for the other brother
Our list is nothing special, but I want to make sure that the boys get to do all of these things. Today, we made Christmas cookies so we can now mark this one-off of our list. What is on your Christmas Bucket list?
I’ve been on a huge holiday kick lately when it comes to my outfits. I think I am drawn more this year than any other year to red and green. I have been trying to find new ways to bring these colors into my daily looks. I got this grided coat from Shein and I couldn’t wait to style it.
The quality of this coat is really nice. I really like the weight of the fabric. It is perfect for layering and worn all day long on a cold winter day. It would also work well as coat in the cooler spring and fall months. This coat fits tts, for reference I got a medium.
I wanted to go for a monochromatic pattern mixing since it is such an easy way to mix prints. I decided to go with a pop of color with my pants for a bolder look. I also liked that the red brought in a holiday vibe that wasn’t over the top. To finish off this look I decided to add gold accessories and a belt. I love how the belt helps define my waist and gives it some structure.

Dressing for the holidays is one of my favorite times of year to outfit plan for! I normally have more outfits than I have places to go too! One of my favorite things to wear for Christmas is are tulle skirts. Last year I wore a gorgeous gray tulle skirt from StyleWe. You can see that look here. I’ve been looking for a black tulle skirt that I love as much as the gray one, and I finally found it at Target!

This tulle skirt from A New Day was super affordable! At less than $25 I knew that I needed to add it to my closet. For reference I got a size medium, but probably could have sized down to a small. I loved the subtle beading detail at the hem. It added just enough detail to make a subtle impact.
To keep with the Christmas theme, I paired this skirt with my Loft top from last year. They have another one this year that is similar as does Old Navy! The black and red plaid is the perfect subtle nod towards the holidays. You can see how I styled it last year here.
For any holiday look sparkle is a must! I love this necklace from Loft. Again it is from last year, but they brought back a similar version. It is such a versatile piece. It is perfect for any dressy look or for dressing up a casual look with a little bling.
To be honest, Valentine’s Day is really just another day in our house. We don’t really do anything special to celebrate. Before kids we would go out to dinner and possibly a movie. Now that we are old and married, Valentine’s Day usually involves ordering out. It is a win in my book if I don’t have to cook dinner! I had some time this morning and thought it would be fun to outfit plan for Valentine’s Day! Maybe I can talk hubby into a date night! I love the idea of getting dressed for dinner and decided to play a bit in my closet to bring you three looks for Valentine’s Day. What outfit would you wear for Valentine’s Day?
This first look is one that I would wear out to dinner or to work. I love the pop of red that the pants bring to the entire look. The poncho and layered striped tee is incredibly comfy, but is dressed up by accessories and a fun pair of flats. The trim on this Baciano poncho is the perfect detail. This is by far my favorite look! If we do end up going out to dinner next weekend I will be wearing this! I love the colors blush and red together! The touches of leopard helps tie it all together. I find that you can add leopard touches to any outfit! A clutch is a great way to accessorize any look. This one from Simply9Designs is my go to accessory!
Day Date or Work:
When pulling items out of my closet to style, this skirt was the first one that came to mind. It is one of my favorites! I love the fact that it has pockets and fits so well! I wanted to figure out something I could wear to work that was appropriate. These flats from JuJus hadd the comfort that I needed, but still dressed up the entire look. To keep this outfit modest, I added a blush cardigan and kept it buttoned up!
Red and green have always seemed like a fashion no to me, until Ugly Sweaters became a thing. As much as I love a tacky sweater at Christmas time, I wanted to play around with these holiday color staples. Pairing red and green together can feel like holiday overload, but when done with moderation can be done without looking like a Christmas card.
I’ve put together 4 red and green outfits that share a different tip to pair these colors in a creative way, so that you can dress festive for the holiday season!
Plaid is a great way to bring red and green to any look. There are so many fun plaids out right now that combine these two colors together! Right now all of these pieces are on sale! You can shop the links above or below in Shop this post section.
When all else fails layer! I love wearing layers to help add diversity to a look. Find traditional pieces that are red and green to pair together. This red vest and plaid scarf are closet staples that bring holiday cheer when paired together. Add a neutral like navy to break apart the bold colors and tie everything together. The vest and tunic are currently on sale! How do you bring red and green into your daily style during the holiday season?

Tulle skirts are a fun way to introduce a whimsical look into your wardrobe. They are the perfect piece for a special evening or event! They can be worn during every season and are classic. Tulle skirts can also be styled to fit your personal style! Ever want to try a tulle skirt, but wasn’t sure how to style? Here are three ways that I styled this grey tulle skirt from StyleWe!
This first look was inspired by many hours of watching Downton Abby while sick last week. I love all the furs, hats, and feminine looks that are worn! This would be perfect for a Holiday gathering or Christmas Eve Service. I love all the feminine touches that this outfit has! What is better than tulle, leopard, and fur? If the fur is too much, then add touches of burgundy to give your look a festive feel.
This next look is a lot more casual. I wanted to style this skirt in a way that would help keep me warm with our Indiana winter. I paired the tulle skirt with this chunky plaid sweater for warmth and a more relaxed feel. I love the look that the plaid adds to a rather monotone look. It gives a little dimension while keeping the look cohesive.
This last look is probably my favorite of the three! There is a simple elegance about this that makes me want to wear it over and over! The black turtleneck with a little bit of sparkle brings an Audrey Hepburn feel! During the holidays you can’t go wrong with tulle and sparkle! How would you style a tulle skirt?
