6 Ways to Wear an Olive Vest

Vests in the fall and winter are one of my favorites items to wear!  I love that you can layer them in so many different looks!  They can be worn casually or dressed up.  I decided to pull together some of my favorite looks from last year wearing this gorgeous olive vest from Old Navy.  As you can see this was a piece that I wore often and in many different ways.  What is your favorite look?  Can you tell that Stripes are my favorite pattern to pair it with?

For Work Wear Wednesday this week, I wanted to style a fun and work worthy look for this vest.  I absolutely love knitted vest.  They are perfect for fall especially when you want to layer.  This vest from Baciano (use code MUSINGSOFASHOPAHOLICMAMA2017 for 30% off )is a perfect blue coloring with a marbling effect.  I love that it has pockets and a hood.  When styling this vest I knew I wanted to try a button up to make it a dressier for the work place.  I choose this blue window pane blouse because the colors were a perfect match.

When I don’t know what to pair with a work look I always tend to grab for my black skinny jeans.  These are a closet staple that I cannot live without!  They go with just about anything!  If you don’t have a good pair of black skinnies you need to pick up a pair.  The Loft has a pair that I absolutely love, and the curvy fit is perfect for anyone with a little bit of curves.

To finish off this look I decided to add my cognac boots.  There is something about the colors black and cognac together that just makes a statement.    Since this blouse and vest make such a statement.  I kept my accessories simple.   I love necklaces that create dainty layers when I am going simple. How would you style this vest?

Once Halloween hits time seems to go into warp speed.  It is crazy to think that we are only two weeks away from Thanksgiving!  I absolutely love the holidays and gathering with friends and family.  I look forward to Thanksgiving every year, because it is the beginning of the Holiday shopping.  On Thanksgiving, after we eat dinner, we gather around the table with our black Friday ads.  Everyone is making lists and plotting out the next day’s course.  We do not go out on Thanksgiving, but get up before dawn to shop on Friday.

Of course with the Holidays comes Holiday Looks!  I already have this year’s thanksgiving look picked out. Since our Thanksgiving is usually casual I tend to go towards looks that are comfy.  They need to make it through multiple meals and stops.  This Floral Dress from Couture Cottage was an easy choice for this year’s look!  This dress is flowy and definitely forgiving with all the deserts I plan to consume!  This one can definitely be paired with leggings or denim depending on your mood.  I love this floppy hat, but find that I feel a bit awkward wearing it out and about.  My family expects me to be a tad over the top so I don’t feel overdressed wearing it around them.

I had such a hard time choosing just one thing from Couture Cottage.  I also ended up picking up this dress too.  If you are local they are located at Jefferson Pointe.  If you aren’t local you are in luck!  Just follow them on Instagram and comment sold, and fill out the Social Shop form on their site to get items shipped to you.

In looking towards Christmas and New Year’s Eve I have already began outfit planning.  I have a few pieces that I have ordered and cannot wait to style!  What is your go to looks for the holidays?

Fall Colors

I absolutely love fall fashion!  I love the layering, scarves, and boots.  Most of all though, I LOVE the rich fall colors.  They are so vibrant, and you can mix and match pretty much all of them.  The colors in this look are no exception.  If I would have to choose a favorite fall color it would be hard to come up with one, but I would have to say mustard yellow and burgundy are by far my top two.  I have so many variations of these two colors.

I was drawn to this cardigan from Shein for multiple reasons.  The first is of course the color!  Secondly, I am a sucker for anything this season that is chunky knits.  This cardigan from Shein lists its sizing is one size fit all.  As much as I loved this sweater though, it is not a one size.  If I was putting a size to this it would be a small or medium.

What is your favorite part about fall fashion?

Current Happenings

Life this fall has been crazier than ever!  As you know, we just returned from a family vacation to Disney.  It was nice getting away.  Life though like I said has been crazy!  Things at work have been extremely busy.  We have a handful of new teachers that are keeping me busy.  I love the fact that I am able to help so many people in my position.  The boys have been playing soccer and the season is coming to a close.  Next weekend is tournament which is always a fun day.  I am hoping for good weather.  This week we are overlapping soccer and basketball which should be interesting!  We have also been car shopping in between all of the craziness.  I am looking forward to ending that process soon!

Our weather in Indiana has taken a drastic turn.  Our warmer days have turned extremely cool and rainy.  I love the cooler temps, but I could do without the rain.  I love the fact that I am able to pull out my fall clothes though.  I think this is my favorite season when it comes to clothes!  There is nothing better than layers in my opinion.

The Outfit

This look brings in so many of my favorite styles that it makes me happy!  Is there anything better than plaid, florals, and ruffled sleeves?  This top from Shein had so many of my favorite styles that I couldn’t wait to give it a try.  When wearing a boxier top I like to pair it with a slimmer silhouette on the bottom.  These jeans from Loft are some of the best!  If you are a curvier gal like myself you need to try these!  They are absolutely the best fit, and I love how they hit right at the end of my leg.

When I received this top I was really excited about the quality.  I ordered a size large, but I could have gone with my normal size medium.  The material is a little heavier which is perfect for perfect fall days.  The embroidery is really well done too!  As for wrinkles, it was super easy to remove.  The best part was that new ones were not added throughout the day.  These pictures were taken after a day of working!  This top also comes in a basic white and blue stripes if plaid isn’t for you!

Since there was so much going on with this top I decided to keep my accessories simple.  This pendent necklace from Shop Sarahndipity is simple enough that it helped enhance this top verses making the look to busy.  When looking for accessories for patterned tops simpler is always better.

To keep with the easy and simple look I added my favorite bracelet stack from Centered Jewelry. This is a local company that designs the best bracelets.  There are so many gorgeous stacks that you can create by just a few pieces.  If you are local and looking to see pieces in person head to Outer Grace Boutique or Lane 201!  If you aren’t local you can also find her on Etsy.  I wear these bracelets at least once a week, because I love them so much.
