Matilda Jane is a name that is mainly associated with fun and whimsical clothing for young girls.  As a mom of boys I have not had much of a chance to explore the wonderful world of Matilda Jane.  I have loved their pieces for young girls and thanked god that he knew I would be poor if I had girls.

This past year I became aware that Matilda Jane is not just for kids.  They have a women’s line too!  I loved the fun prints, and the built-in pattern mixing that most pieces offer.  I wasn’t sure though that their style would fit mine.  I was super excited when Taylor a local Trunk Keeper contacted me and wanted to share some of the pieces that Matilda Jane offers.  I got to try on most of the spring pieces and I loved each and everyone!

Matilda Jane only puts out their lines twice year and it is slowly released over the following months to build on their collections.  At the end of the season (usually January and July) typically they host their End of Season Sale.  Matilda Jane is currently having their end of season sale with up to 40% off on a ton of women’s and girls’ pieces.

One of my favorite pieces was the Sunday Best Dress.  I loved the carefree and easy style that is perfect for twirling!  The print is what first caught my eye when looking through the pieces.  I loved the combination oranges, yellows, and pinks and how it created a feminine floral feel.  The prints are designed by an in house artist exclusively for Matilda Jane.

My youngest decided to jump in on the photo and I couldn’t help but add it!  He is always the first one to tell me how beautiful I look!

Another reason why I loved this dress was the style!  I loved the neck detail that is definitely in trend this summer season!  This dress can be worn with or without a belt depending on the silhouette that you want.  I loved it both ways!  I added turquoise accessories to continue the summer feel.  Since the dress and accessories were bold I went neutral with my shoe choice.  These have quickly become a favorite pair of mine!  They are comfortable and go with so many dresses and skirts.

I ended up ordering a few items Monday from Matilda Jane.  I couldn’t resist adding more to my closet.  Be on the look out this week for how I am styling all of my Matilda Jane pieces!  Let me know what you end up getting and which looks are your favorite!

Boho Chic with 4 Easy Pieces

One of my favorite fall and spring look is boho chic.  What is boho chic do you ask?  I define it as a loose, breezy, style that is comfortable and looks great.  Here is 4 easy pieces that you need to create a great boho look.  Most of the pieces that I am showcasing are older, but I have linked similar items to help you recreate a similar style.

ONE Kimonos!

Kimonos are a closet staple when trying to create a boho look!  I love how they can be worn with so many different pieces.  You can pair them with a dress, skirt, or shorts!  Kimonos can be dressed up or dressed down.  I paired my favorite floral and lace trimmed kimono with a pair of skinny jeans for work.

TWO Flowy Tanks!

I absolutely LOVE flowy tanks!  I have a huge section of them in my closet.  They are easy to throw on again with just about anything.  My favorite way to wear them in the spring is layered with a kimono or a cardigan.  In the summer there is nothing better than a tank and a pair of cut offs!  Here are some of my current favorites!

Three Pendant Necklaces!

Pendent necklaces are another closet staple!  There are so many ways that you can wear them! This one from Premier Designs is old, but one of my favorite go to pieces!  Here are some of my favorite pendants.  Some, I have in my closet.

Four Statement Earrings

Another piece that helps make a boho look complete is a pair of statement earrings.  These yet again are a closet staple for me!  I know, I know I keep saying all these things are a closet staple, but I truly believe that they are!  They are interchangeable in so many looks!  Just buying these pieces will help expand your wardrobe and add a little spice to your closet!

When I saw the Victoria Beckham line for Target I was adamant that I was not going shopping.  The items were adorable, but I had made the decision that I needed to cut back on my shopping.  I resisted until that evening when I went out of town for work and we had to stop at target.  I got the cutest lace bomber jacket.  Then, my sweet friend, Amanda from abcmomstyle got the bee scarf and I feel in love.  My first trip to my Target yielded no scarf, but my persistence paid off!  When I ran in real quick last weekend to grab some things for the boys’ Easter Basket I found this on on the rack.  It was the last one and you can bet I snatched it up!

I’ve been wanting to wear this scarf since it came home with me.  I love how it pairs with the Nina Eyelet Dress from Lavish and Luxe Boutique.  I don’t usually gravitate towards this color, but I wanted to give it a try!  I am so glad that I did!  The yellow and green colors are so fun together!  The fit is a swing style and is incredibly comfortable!  Use code MANDY15 for 15% off!

I have fallen in love with Karina Dresses.  These dresses are extremely comfortable and wrinkle free!  The fit is made with specific body styles in mind.  The Penelope Garden Dress is perfect in fit and style.  It is a great dress for an hourglass body shape, inverted triangle shape, triangle shape, oval shape, and rectangle shape! I love the colors and floral pattern.

I love this dress and how it can be dressed up with a  pair of flats or heels.  The pop of yellow and cobalt blue is a new pairing that I want to try again!  This dress can also be dressed down with a jean jacket and a cute pair of white tennis shoes!

The knotted tee is making a comeback! If you’re like me, you probably rocked a “knotted tee” as a child, curtesy of a hairband or a plastic clip thingy.  The latest version is a sweet tucked under knot that dresses up any tee. I love this floral version!

Speaking of comebacks, the dark horse comeback award goes to acid wash jeans! Never did I ever think I’d see this 80’s trend return, but it has.  And surprisingly, I’m loving it! I love this updated take on the trend! It pairs well with a plain tee and neutral accessories.
