One of my favorite summer trends has been the straw tote. I am not sure if it is truly the idea of a straw tote or just this gorgeous one from Vera Bradley. The best part is it is currently on sale! I got this tote in late March, and I have gotten so much use out of it! It came with me on Spring in Florida. It was perfect for the beach to carry all of my important items, and for evenings out! Straw totes are not just vacations. I have used it as my everyday bag at home too! It has been the perfect accessory!

During the summer the boys and I are always on the go. There is a lot of baseball, swimming, and playing with friends. Last week, my oldest had batting lessons. I always look forward to these because that means a trip to Loft! Since I knew we were running multiple errands, and the gym would be hot, I wanted an easy style. One of my favorite looks during the summer is an easy flowy dress.
This shift dress is from Knox Rose a line at Target. If you are looking for a more casual flowy style this is your brand! I have been loving their pieces. It is rare for me to make a Target run without coming home with an item from this brand. What drew me to this dress was the fun tie dye look. I don’t have anything like it. The detailing on the top is gorgeous, and the pom pom trim adds a fun whimsical feel.
One of the major reasons I love summer dresses is that they are easy! Throw on a pair of cute sandals, and add cute accessories. This straw beach bag from Vera Bradley has become a favorite bag! I love the bright colors and amount of space that is available inside! My boys are constantly giving me things to carry!
When wearing dresses in the summer casually, I like to keep my jewelry minimal. I like to stick to only one or two statement pieces. These earrings from Sugar Fix by Bauble Bar for Target are a great pop of color. I love the tassel detailing also. These are heavier, but did not make my head feel weighed down.
We are a week into summer break, and I am loving every moment! I have been catching up on housework and decluttering! It hasn’t been all work though. On Monday, we went to the zoo with our cousins. It was our first trip of the year! We are very blessed to have an amazing children’s zoo. It is always fun to go and see what changes have been made since the previous year.
One of my favorite summer time looks is a crisp button up with a pair of distressed denim shorts. I was excited that the weather was going to be a bit cooler so I could wear this perfect button up from Shein. When I ordered this top I sized up to a large so I could wear it with leggings or skinny jeans. The top hits me mid-thigh when it is untucked. You can see how I styled it with colored jeans here.
For me clothes have to be comfortable. I know, I know I sound like a broken record. I learned long ago, if what I am wearing is uncomfortable I am less productive. This probably sounds odd I know, but uncomfortable shoe makes me want to sit. While tight clothes make me self-conscious. These Chucks were an easy choice for a trip to the zoo. My boys practically run through the zoo, and this momma has to keep up!
When out with the boys, I like to make sure I have both hands free. Hubby and I always said two was perfect for man-on-man defense. Also, when I am out alone with them I have one hand for each. As they have gotten older this has gotten to be less of an issue. I still love bags that I don’t have to fuss with. This Big Sky Backpack from Vera Bradley has become my go to mommy bag! It holds plenty of snacks, and of course all of my necessities!
In the summer, I like to keep my accessories simple. I like delicate pieces that can be worn alone or layered. I have become obsessed with Sugar Fix earrings! They make a statement, but are still simple enough to wear everyday! My Vera Bradley sunglasses are a constant accessory. I don’t leave the house without them! How do you like to accessorize in the summer?

I totally HATE working out! I have never enjoyed it, and never gotten the runner’s high so many people talk about. I tried so many different workouts to keep me motivated. The only one I keep coming back to is Pilates and activities that are not high intensity. To help keep me motivated I like to have cute workout accessories!
I have challenged myself to set an exercise goal Monday through Friday. I recently got an Apple watch for Christmas and love the fact that it tracks both my workouts and my steps. I may not always get my steps in, but I know if it is a workout day I will definitely burn the targeted amount of calories. This has helped keep me on track and not feel overwhelmed! For some reason weekends are hard for me to meet my calorie goal though steps and workouts. I am looking forward warmer weather so I can begin my walks again! I had a fitbit before, but I love that I can dress up my apple watch by adding a few pretties!
In addition to Pilates, I am also doing the 21 Day fix two days a week. I know that it is meant to be done on a daily basis, but with busy schedules it is hard to coordinate. There are a group of girls I work with that meet two days a week to workout! I love having my Vera Bradley yoga mat for both workouts! It gives me something pretty to look at while I am dying from being out of shape.
I have been focusing on my health goal for a month now. You can read more about my original goals here. I lost a pound and gained half of it back. It has been frustrating! Last week I found it hard to get my workouts in. I traveled for work, and hubby was out-of-town for his work. I wanted to give up and not worry about eating healthy and not worry about working out. I decided that after 3 weeks I cannot give up! I am pushing on and thankfully I have a great group of girls that I work out with. They make it fun and help me push myself when I want to give up.
Today we started over on the 21 Day Fix. The first time I did Day 1 of cardio I couldn’t walk for about 5 days afterwards. My legs were so shaky that night walking out to my car I thought I wasn’t going to make it. Tonight, I felt so much stronger and the workout was easier than the first time! Which means I am getting stronger! This is what I am focusing on to keep me motivated! Along with cute outfits of course! What helps keep you motivated?

Sunglasses are a must any time of the year! For me they are not only a fashion accessory they are mandatory for my sensitive eyes. I have to wear sunglasses year round due to sun sensitivity. At times I feel near blinded when I step outside. Thankfully, a good pair of sunglasses help protect my eyes against the glare!
When Glassesshop.com contacted me to collaborate I was really excited! The selection of eyeglasses, glasses frames, and prescription sunglasses is very extensive. I love that you can search by glasses shape and by material. It was very easy to find a pair that I loved!
I chose the Seine Wayfarer to try out. At 12.99 what is there to lose? I’ve been looking for a fun pair of subtly colored sunglasses for a while! The purple hue of these are the perfect color of any outfit. They are not over the top and the large frames fit my normal glasses style! The construction of these glasses are well mad and do not feel flimsy! I’ve been wearing this pair on an almost daily basis since they have arrived and they still look new!
For my readers, there is a special coupon code GSHOT50. This code means my readers can have 50% off on eyeglasses and sunglasses with free lenses(sale frames excluded).
