An Evening of Fashion

A  few weeks ago, I had an opportunity to model for Outer Grace Boutique.  Two EE’s Winery was having a Little Black Dress Event showcasing various local boutiques. If you are local, you need to check out this even next year!  It was so much fun seeing everyone show up in their fanciest black dresses.  So many women were dressed to the nines and looked absolutely amazing!

I was able to choose my look for the evening, and I wanted to play with patterns.  As you all know that I love mixing patterns, and I wanted to showcase this during the evening.  I found this perfect striped top that when I pulled down the sleeves have thumb holes.  I knew this piece would be worn a ton layered with other pieces.  It was perfectly layered with this black floral kimono.  I loved the darker colors for winter and fall! I grabbed my leopard clutch from Simply 9 Designs to finish of this look.

To be honest, I was super nervous to participate in this event.  I didn’t want to be the older mom that was trying to be trendy.  Once I got to the event though, and met the other girls I was instantly at ease.  The entire evening was so much fun!  I got to meet some new ladies and step outside of my comfort zone.  At the end of the night, I was proud of myself for trying something new!  I have to thank Sarah from Outer Grace for the opportunity.  Sarah is one of the sweetest people I have met and I am so happy that I get to help support her boutique.

Sweater Weather

I LOVE sweaters!  The more oversized it is the better!  There is nothing better on a cold day than putting on a cozy sweater!  I am drawn to sweaters with fun details especially ones that can me worn in multiple ways!  I have been crushing on sweaters with lace-up and bow details for a little bit of decoration to spice up a normally simple look.

This sweater I picked up in Oregon last summer, and I have been waiting for our temps to cool so I could pull it out!  I decided to pair it with my camo pants for a more neutral look.  To change-up this look and to add a little bit of diversity I added one of my blanket scarves.  If you love blanket scarves, but can stand the bulk, check out my blog post from last fall here.

Since this sweater is no longer available, I rounded up some other fun sweaters!  Which one is your favorite?

Black Friday Sales + Favorites

Every year, I get excited for Black Friday!  I remember as a little girl on Thanksgiving being at my Grandma’s house, and watching the women in my family pour over the ads and plan their attack!  As I got older, I was excited when I got to start participating and joining in on the fun!  We still pour over the ads after Thanksgiving dinner, but with online shopping it opens a whole opportunity for shopping.  I am starting to scour over my favorite sites and hunting for what I cannot live with out.  I decided to share some of my favorite sales, and what I am adding to my wish list.  If you are looking for ideas for your Christmas List check out my Christmas List here.  What is on your wish lists this year?

Work Wear Wednesday 11.15.17

For Work Wear Wednesday this week, I wanted to style a fun and work worthy look for this vest.  I absolutely love knitted vest.  They are perfect for fall especially when you want to layer.  This vest from Baciano (use code MUSINGSOFASHOPAHOLICMAMA2017 for 30% off )is a perfect blue coloring with a marbling effect.  I love that it has pockets and a hood.  When styling this vest I knew I wanted to try a button up to make it a dressier for the work place.  I choose this blue window pane blouse because the colors were a perfect match.

When I don’t know what to pair with a work look I always tend to grab for my black skinny jeans.  These are a closet staple that I cannot live without!  They go with just about anything!  If you don’t have a good pair of black skinnies you need to pick up a pair.  The Loft has a pair that I absolutely love, and the curvy fit is perfect for anyone with a little bit of curves.

To finish off this look I decided to add my cognac boots.  There is something about the colors black and cognac together that just makes a statement.    Since this blouse and vest make such a statement.  I kept my accessories simple.   I love necklaces that create dainty layers when I am going simple. How would you style this vest?
