It has been a busy few weeks since I last did an IG Review. We have recently returned from our Disney Vacation. We had an amazing time!!!! I’m debating on doing a post to share some of the tricks we learned while we were there. Let me know if you would like to read more about Disney! Since we have returned, it has been a whirlwind of activity. Soccer games, prepping for Halloween, and the return of one of my brothers from a deployment!
Here are a few looks from the past few weeks. Which one is your favorite?
Booties are one of the biggest trends that are continuing for fall this year. They are the perfect addition to any look. Booties also work for anyone, no matter the shape or size of your legs. These wonderful pieces of footwear are perfect for late summer into fall and even into winter depending on the temps! I love to pair them with shorts, dresses, and pants! They go with just about anything! When pairing booties with skinny pants I like to cuff the bottom to leave a small gap to help narrow the look of my ankles.
These cognac booties have been on major repeat this season. They are versatile and can be paired with just about anything any color. These Alfanibooties from Macy’s I snagged at the end of the season last year. These are one of the first pair of shoes I grab for on a daily basis. I am teaming up with Tiff from Bright on a Budget to show you three ways booties this fall. How do you like to style your booties?
Here are some of my favorite cognac booties that are available! I found many pairs that start at $30 all the way up to $150. No matter your price range there are plenty of choices available. If you are eyeing a pair, but can’t bring yourself to pay the high prices, you can always wait until the Christmas or end of season sales. I have found some of my favorites pairs of shoes during those times!
I started switching my closet over today for cooler weather. As I was organizing, I realized I may have a slight obsession with blanket scarves! As I was folding and putting them all away, I decided to do a post on how to style them. I have had so many friends and family ask how exactly to wear a blanket scarf. Wonder no more! Here are 6 Ways to style a blanket scarf. Please excuse the no make-up look since this was done without planning! All of these looks were done with a blanket scarf that I have cut in half. All of these looks can be done with a full-size blanket scarf also!
Look 1: This style is the most common way to wear a blanket scarf. All you do is place the longest point of your blanket scarf on your tummy, and wrap the ends around your neck. This is the typical way I wear my scarves.
Look 2: This second look is one of the easiest way to style a blanket scarf. Take a scarf and throw it over your shoulders like a shawl. I love to wear this style with dresses. If you want to dress it up more you can always add a belt.
Style 3: This next look is just an easy way to dress up any look. I took the blanket and wrapped it once around my neck. To add a little dimension I knotted the ends.
Style 4: This style is done exactly like style 1, but the ends are loosely knotted.
Style 5: On this style I took my scarf and put it on just like style 3. I then wrapped the ends around my neck and knotted in the back. I tucked the knot under my hair and had an instant infinity scarf.
Style 6: I took the two ends of the scarf and matched them together. I then took the scarf and wrapped it around my neck. I tucked the ends through the loop at the end to give it this a more tailored look.
During our recent trip to Disney, I was able to shop at Disney Springs. I was excited by the number of stores that were there that we didn’t have where I live. One of the stores I was excited to shop at was Free People! Our local Macy’s has a very small section, and when I say small I mean maybe 10 items! Tiff from Bright on a Budge guest post last week on her Top 6 Fall Trends inspired me. Today’s look embodies so many of my current favorite fall trends I had to share!
Trend 1: Tunics- While shopping at Free People, I found this gorgeous burnt orange tunic dress. The oversized look is gorgeous! I haven’t seen anything similar in my local stores so I knew that this had to come home with me. I sized down to an x-small. The colors in this gorgeous necklace from Pineappple Lace are the perfect palette for fall.
Trend 2: Over the Knee Boots– When I got dressed yesterday morning, I knew I had to wear my new Vince Camuto over the knee boots. I love the boho chic feel! I bought these at the #NSALE a few months ago and have been waiting patiently for the weather to change for their debut!
Trend 3: Backpacks: Vera Bradley has become one of my favorite places to shop for bags lately! I love the fact that they are based locally, and they are really changing their line to meet the style trends! The Big Sky Backpackwas great on vacation, but also can be paired with a more dressy look!
When traveling comfort is key! To prep for my upcoming trip to Disney I scoured Pinterestand Instagram for casual chic looks. For the flights, I wanted to be comfortable and to have layers. I am usually cold, but wanted to make sure I was dressed for the Florida heat once we arrived. I decided to wear my black Sateen Pocket Leggingsand plaid button up from Loft. These things are as soft and super comfy as can be! They are also currently 50% off using code ‘TheBest’!
I was super excited when Love Monday Apparel sent over this adorable tee. The phrase Kind Heart Brave Spirit Fierce Mind really spoke to me! I would like to believe, that I try to embrace these words daily! I don’t have many graphic tees so this one will be a popular one this fall!
I’ve been debating on getting a new pair of casual athletic shoes. I love my New Balance, but wanted something a little more neutral, and that I could wear also with dresses. I decided on these Nike In Season TR5. I am not sure how to style them yet with dresses, but they were incredibly comfortable which is key when walking all around the airport! I ended up wearing them into Disney most days! I was able to wear them with almost everything I packed, even though I hadn’t planned on wearing them so much.
Another key element of travel is of course your bags! With backpacks making a huge come back I wanted to give this trend a try. Thanks to Vera Bradley I was able to do it with this adorable Big Sky Backpack! I loved everything about this bag. It was the perfect size to keep my normal purse items plus snacks for the kids on the plane. The backpack was perfect for keeping my hands free to hang on to the boys in the crowd!
