Fall Floral: How to Wear 3 Ways

Florals are huge this fall!  Everywhere I look there seems to be gorgeous florals in my favorite fall colors!  Last year, I noticed that my closet was seriously lacking!  I only had a scarf and top that I wore every time style challenges had florals.  I was super excited when I found this Vintage Floral Top from Pineapple Lace!  I knew this top would be the perfect addition to my closet!

When deciding how to style this top, I knew right away I wanted to try it with my olive vest.  I knew the colors would look gorgeous color together.  Also, with temps getting cooler I wanted to layer!  The vest helped create the illusion of a smaller silhouette.  If you are ever unsure about a blousy top add a vest to streamline the look.

I love how this layered necklace pairs perfectly with the colors in this top!  The colors in this necklace are some of my favorites shades for fall, and will be worn quite a bit this year!  I love how layered pieces add visual appeal to looks.

The second style, I really wanted to try was this top with wide legged jeans.  I love that they are back in style.  I have been trying to wear them more often.  I love the polished boho feeling that I had while wearing this!

The last style I tried was laid back and casual.  This is one of my go to weekend looks.  I love wearing a pair of comfy jeans with booties and a cute top!  It is an easy formula that works for my lifestyle!

Which look did you like the best?  Do you have any fall florals in your closet or is this something you need to add?

YSL Vinyl Cream Lip Stain Review

I have never been one to wear lipstick.  It would not last, and I could never find the right color.  Recently, I have been stepping out of my comfort zone with make-up and trying new items.  Influenster has been a huge factor in this change since I have received so many great items to review.

I recently received the Yves St. Laurent Vinyl Cream Lip Stain to review.  This product is available at Sephora.  When I first saw the color I was a little scared.  It was bright, and not in my normal neutral color palette.  Once I applied this lip color, I realized how gorgeous  it was!  The texture was smooth and not sticky.  It also stayed much longer than most other lipsticks I have tried.

I decided to put this lip stain to the test today.  I applied the lip color at 8:45 am before church.  After applying I finished my cup of coffee and then took my first snapshot.

At 10:45, 2 hours after applying, it still looked great!  I snapped this picture in the car after church!  Still bright and shiny.  I think the people walking past my car was wondering what in the world I was doing!

After church, I stopped by to help my sister-in-law with putting some outfits together.  I got home at 12:45.  Another 2 hours later and the shine was gone, but the color was still going.  I was really excited that after 4 hours that I still had so much color!

After lunch, at around 1:45 the color had finally faded.  The color had lasted roughly 5 hours!  This was pretty impressive by my standards. This is definitely one of the most long-lasting,  lipsticks I have ever used!

I am looking forward to trying some different colors to see if they last as long!   Here are all the fabulous colors that are available!  I have become a huge fan and I give YSL Lip stain a HUGE thumbs up!  What is your favorite lip product?

Loft Fitting Room Review- September

During a recent girl’s day I shopped Loft’s 40% off sale.  There were so many great pieces!  I had a hard time choosing what to bring home!  Take a look at some of my favorite items from my recent try-on session.

This peplum top fit great!  I love how soft and lightweight the fabric feels.  The peplum hits low enough that it does not accentuate your hips.  If you are anything like me that is an issue! I was able to get my true size.  I am wearing a small in this picture.

I saw this poncho during my last shopping trip and fell in love!  The colors are perfect, and it looked so comfy and cozy.  Once I put it on I was obsessed!  This top is perfect for a cool day.  You can pair with leggings or skinny jeans.  Add some accessories and you are ready for work!  I bought an x-small in this top.

I am so happy that the manager at my local Loft told me about these leggings from loft.  They are so soft!!!!  The fit is absolutely amazing also!  Another win is that they have pockets!  I sized up to a 6 in these pants.  I normally wear a 4 in the Julie.  I loved these pants so much that I went back and got a black pair!

I am a sucker for anything plaid.  This top I actually exchanged for a larger size.  I wanted more of an oversized look so I got a medium.  As I look at this picture I realized I probably could have stuck with a small.  Either way it fits great.  I wore it this week and got a ton of compliments!

This was my favorite purchase of the day!  When I saw this dress on the rack I wasn’t sold.  Something about it though kept me coming back to take another look.  I decided after the third pass, that I might as well try it on!  I am so glad that I did.  I absolutely loved everything about it once I had it on!  Check out how I styled this dress here.  I was able to get my normal size 4 in this dress.  I feel like I could have even sized down to a 2 if needed.

Last but not least is this fun top!  Stripes and peplum, does it get any better?  I love how Loft has been making their peplums this year.  I feel like they were made for me!  I am wearing a size small.  What do you think about my recent picks?  Which one is your favorite?

High Five for Friday- Week in Review

Catching back up again on my week(s) in review!  Here is what is happening lately!

photo2 photo3

The end of summer has officially arrived!  My parents closed the pool recently.  My boys were bummed that they could no longer swim.  They got one last time in though!  They were having a blast standing on grandpa’s shoulders and jumping!

I got to spend some girl time with a great friend a few weeks ago.  We were able to do lunch and shopping!  Sometimes it is hard to remember that we need to make time for ourselves!

William absolutely loves boxes.  Grandma gave him this one.  Mean momma said he had to figure out a way to get it home.  This was his solution.  Pretty ingenious!  Although poor kid couldn’t see.  Mom ended up carrying it home.  The box is now in his room and in bed with him!

We spent the afternoon hanging out with our neighbors on Sunday.   The kids decided to build a fort.  Who needs toys when you have boxes!

The boys started soccer a few weeks ago.  Of course it rained during both games.  They of course loved it!  This is our first year playing and so far they love it!

Blanket Scarves 3 Ways and a Giveaway

One of my favorite fall fashion staples is the blanket scarf!  The blanket scarf is the ultimate accessory adding style to any outfit.  The oversized nature of the blanket scarf is so cozy that it also keeps you warm on a cold day!  It also goes with everything and can be worn with just about anything.  Today, I wanted to share three effortless looks that you can easily use to style your blanket scarf.

Outfit Details|| Scarf: Old || Tunic: Old || Vest: Old Navy (similar) || Jeans: Old || Boots: Old || Boot Cuffs: Kuhfs ||

As temps get chillier my motto is the more layers the better.  I love pairing a blanket scarf with a basic tunic and vest.  A bright scarf can be added to help brighten neutrals.  Scarves and vests also help when you don’t want to wear a coat while running errands.   I hate having to carry a coat as I shop or run in and out of stores.

Outfit Details || Tunic: Loft (old) || Pants: Old || Booties: Clarks (old) ||

I also find that blanket scarves are an easy way to pattern mix, if you are uneasy about wearing multiple patterns.  Stripes are a safe way to begin.  Especially, if the stripes are neutral colors.  Stripes that are black, navy, or grey with white I find are the easiest to use in pattern mixing.

Outfit Details || Tunic: Lularoe c/o Breezy Tucker || Boots: Nordstrom || Leggings: Loft ||

This is one of my favorite outfits to wear early in the fall season.  The lightweight tunic is perfect for a cool fall afternoon.   The entire outfit is comfortable, but an easy way to look put together.  I always feel like I am cheating the system when my outfit feels like wearing my pjs.  What is your favorite way to style your blanket scarf?

Want to win your own blanket scarf like the one pictured?  Check out the three ways you can win below!  Each follow is an entry.

Open to the U.S. and Canada.  Fake accounts will be disqualified. if you have a PRIVATE account it must be made PUBLIC during the giveaway and until the winner is announced. All entries must be submitted by 9/15 , 12AM EST. The winner will be announced on 9/28 after  all entries are verified.
