Instagram in Review- August 28, 2016

This week was a rough week, and I didn’t have time to plan my outfits.  Most mornings were spent wondering what to wear.  Luckily I have Pinterest and Instagram for inspiration.  Read about how I get outfit inspiration here.  Many of the pieces I wore this week were older.  I tried to link similar pieces below in shop this post!

Searching for Booties

Fall is right around the corner. I have been debating on buying a new pair of black booties for a few weeks now.  I have a few pairs that I feel are on the dressier side. As I have gotten dressed lately, I find that they aren’t quite what I want. I would like a pair that are semi-casual, but can still be worn with dresses. I’ve scoured my normal stores Nordstrom, Macys, 6pm, Old Navy, and Target. Where do you normally shop? I would love to know which booties you like the best!

Polka Dot Top- How to Wear 3 Ways

I love finding new ways to style favorite pieces in my closet.  I decided to remix this Polka Dot top from Loft.  One of the reasons, I love this top is that it is versatile and can be worn many ways.  It can be easily be dressed up for work or worn casually.  Which way is your favorite?

Stripes on Stripes and a Little Inspiration

This week has been one of those weeks.  I spent the weekend and beginning of the week sick.  Both boys started soccer earlier this week.  I also didn’t plan my outfit for work.  Every morning I have woken up wondering what to wear.  Luckily I have inspiration at my fingertips!  The inspiration I find on IG and Pinterest is a godsend!  I have boards specifically for each season.  I have then divided between casual and work looks.

My first area to look though is my phone.  I have an album in my photos just for outfit inspiration from IG and emails.  As I scroll through my feed I am constantly taking screen shots of looks I love.  I always look for inspiration that I can recreate.  If I have the pieces in my closet and I love it then I save it!

Tuesday’s look was brought to you courtesy of Tiff from Bright on a Budget!  Last week Tiff shared a stripe on stripe look that I loved on Instagram!  I am a sucker for stripes.  This pattern is right up there with polka dots and leopard!  I loved the colors and how the stripes looked together.  Check out Tiff’s Instagram Page and Blog!

I also love to pattern mix.  I think that is why I loved Tiff’s look so much.  She took one of my favorite patterns and doubled it!  In the summer I find it harder to mix patterns, because of the heat I do not layer as much.  In cooler weather it is much easier to layer and also pattern mix!  I think the best part about this outfit is that it was all pieces I’ve had in my closet for awhile!  I love when I can pull out items I haven’t worn in a long time!  Where do you get your outfit inspiration?

Fitting Room Review – Loft – August 21

Disclaimer:  This post contains affiliate links.

As many of you know I love Loft clothing, and I mean LOVE!  At least half of my closet is made up of Loft pieces.  Many of their pieces are perfect for casual and work.  They are comfortable and are made to fit real women!  I have an hourglass shape.  Their pants and shorts are the few I can buy straight from the rack without trying them on.  I promise this is not a sponsored post!  I just love Loft that much!

I’m posting some of the items I tried on during the last few shopping visits.  Some of the pieces found a home in my closet while I had to put others back!  Loft is currently having a 50% sale on certain items.  I have added sale to the front of the item that is on sale!

I always hear that fashion trends come back around, and this top is the perfect example.  The print of this top is gorgeous and I love the detailing that help slim the entire look.  I wish I had tried it on with black pants.  Unfortunately, I didn’t think to change until later.  I wanted to love this top, but the sleeves were a bit much for me.  I’m sure if you give me time I will have bell sleeves in my closet!  This top fit tts, I am wearing a small.

I am in love with this charcoal off the shoulder top!  The top was flowy and helped hide any areas that I am self-conscious of.  The color would be great to transition into fall and would look great with a colored pair of skinnies.  Unfortunately it is not a piece I can wear to school, so this top did not come home with me.  I won’t lie though and tell you that I’ve been thinking about it ever since!  This top did fit tts, I am wearing a small.

ON SALE:  Remember my love of leopard that was mentioned last week?  This top is the perfect leopard print!  I cannot wait to pair it with my scalloped shorts, and black trouser pants for school!  This is another piece that will be on major repeat this fall!  The back of this top is sweater material.  I normally do not like tops with different fabric, but I loved how it helped make the top a little more dressy.  This top fit true to size and I got a small.  I tried a medium and it was to baggy and hung under the arm.

I love cardigans!  I constantly looking for colors that I do not have in my closet.  This mustard colored cardi from Loft came home with me!  I absolutely love the color and the fit.  This color is one of my favorites for fall and I can already see it being worn in so many ways!  This is size medium.  I tend to like my cardigans a little big so I can layer.

Last year Loft had as similar top that sold out quickly.  I was so disappointed that I couldn’t find it in my size.  I was super excited to see it this year!  This top runs tts and I got a small.  I love the loser fit and the peplum in a different material adds a fun touch! I think it will look great with a statement necklace or a scarf!

Since I wasn’t a fan of the bell sleeves of the top above,  I wanted to try this one.  I love the sleeves of this top.  It has a small illusion of a bell sleeve but then tapered and buttoned at the wrist.  The wrists were a bit narrow.  I wish the top was tunic length.  I wasn’t sure how this top would work with other pieces I had in my closet so it didn’t come home with me.  It did fit tts, and I am wearing a small.

I am in love with this dress and regretting that I did not bring it home with me. I  was trying to be reasonable since I have so many other black dresses in my closet.  The fit of this dress was perfect!  I love how it didn’t fit close to the body and helped hide the love handles.  The sleeves are the best part about this dress!  It is such a fun detail that makes this dress even more special!  I am wearing a 4 and feel that it fits tts.

The print of this dress is adorable!  So much so that I bought a tee in the exact print!  The colors are perfect for fall.  You can see it styled here!  I wanted to love everything about this dress.  The piping was adorable, and the boho feel was perfect for fall.  I could already see myself styling it for fall with leggings and boots.  Once I put it on though, I felt like it wasn’t me and my usual style.
