Work Wear Wednesday 12.13.17: Winter Florals

Outfit Details || Dress: c/o Outer Grace Boutique || Cardigan: c/o Outer Grace Boutique || Boots: Similar || Necklace: c/o Sugar Fix || Earrings: Kendra Scott

Anyone else surprised by how much they love florals?  Up until the last year or so I was never a huge fan of florals.  Once though I found ones I liked there was no turning back.  I have florals for summer, spring, and fall.  When I saw this dress from Outer Grace Boutique I fell in love with the winter colors that this dress offered.  The print is gorgeous and not over powering.  My favorite part about this dress is the pockets!  Any dress or skirt that has pockets I have a hard time resisting.

As with most dresses that I wear I added a long cardigan.  This one is from Outer Grace too.  They have the best selection of cardigans of all lengths, colors, and patterns.  This one is a high low style that is a gorgeous burgundy color.  I love these cardigans so much I have one in mustard yellow and red also.  You can see how I styled them on Instagram!

For work I tend to gravitative towards dresses and leggings.  They are so comfortable and still look great.  I find dresses even more comfortable than jeans.  I know some people absolutely love jeans and would rather wear them than anything else.  Ever since we have been able to only wear jeans with spirit wear at work I find myself only wearing jeans on the weekends.  A lot of times on Fridays I find myself dressing up instead of dressing down.  Does anyone else feel this way?

Christmas Bucket List and Simple Holiday Style

Outfit Details || Coat: c/o Shein || Necklace: Similar || Top: Similar || Boots: Similar || Pants:  Similar ||

This past fall, I was at a friend’s house for a get together.  I noticed she had made a fall bucket list with her boys, and there were so many fun things listed.  I loved the idea of listing out what we wanted to do so we didn’t forget them!  Yesterday, I sat down with the boys and asked them what they wanted to make sure to do during the Christmas Season.  Here is their list:

  1.  Make Christmas Cookies
  2. Build a Snowman
  3. Go see the Christmas Lights at the Zoo
  4. Have a sleepover
  5. Go see a movie
  6. Christmas Shopping for the other brother

Our list is nothing special, but I want to make sure that the boys get to do all of these things.  Today, we made Christmas cookies so we can now mark this one-off of our list.  What is on your Christmas Bucket list?

I’ve been on a huge holiday kick lately when it comes to my outfits.  I think I am drawn more this year than any other year to red and green.  I have been trying to find new ways to bring these colors into my daily looks.  I got this grided coat from Shein and I couldn’t wait to style it.

The quality of this coat is really nice.  I really like the weight of the fabric.  It is perfect for layering and worn all day long on a cold winter day.  It would also work well as coat in the cooler spring and fall months.  This coat fits tts, for reference I got a medium.

I wanted to go for a monochromatic pattern mixing since it is such an easy way to mix prints. I decided to go with a pop of color with my pants for a bolder look.  I also liked that the red brought in a holiday vibe that wasn’t over the top.  To finish off this look I decided to add gold accessories and a belt.  I love how the belt helps define my waist and gives it some structure.

Work Wear Wednesday 12.6.17: The LBD

Outfit Details || Dress: c/o Outer Grace Boutique || Scarf: Similar || Boots: Amazon || belt: Similar || Bracelets:  c/o Keira Nicole Jewelry ||

The little black dress is a staple in every women’s closet.  I love ones that can be dressed up or dressed down depending on the occasion.  When I found this dress from Outer Grace Boutique I knew that I had to add it to my closet.  What drew me to this dress was the sleeves and overall fit.

After seeing my sweet friend last week in her little back dress with cognac accessories I wanted to do the same!  There is something about black and cognac that is so classic.  I love how timeless that the combination can be.  To make this dress work appropriate I decided to add a pair of ankle booties and bow belt.  To finish off this look I decided to add my leopard scarf and some bangle bracelets.

For an evening out or for a Christmas party I would keep this look simple by adding a pair of heels.  For a black dress I love to pair black, red, or leopard heels.  The red and leopard are a perfect pop if that is what you are going for.  To finish off this dress I would add a statement necklace.  For a night out simpler is usually better!  How do you like to style your little black dresses?

Tulle for Christmas

Outfit Details: Top: similar || Necklace: similar || Skirt: Target ||

Dressing for the holidays is one of my favorite times of year to outfit plan for!  I normally have more outfits than I have places to go too!  One of my favorite things to wear for Christmas is are tulle skirts. Last year I wore a gorgeous gray tulle skirt from StyleWe.  You can see that look here.  I’ve been looking for a black tulle skirt that I love as much as the gray one, and I finally found it at Target!

This tulle skirt from A New Day was super affordable!  At less than $25 I knew that I needed to add it to my closet.  For reference I got a size medium, but probably could have sized down to a small.  I loved the subtle beading detail at the hem.  It added just enough detail to make a subtle impact.

To keep with the Christmas theme, I paired this skirt with my Loft top from last year.  They have another one this year that is similar as does Old Navy!  The black and red plaid is the perfect subtle nod towards the holidays.  You can see how I styled it last year here.

For any holiday look sparkle is a must!  I love this necklace from Loft. Again it is from last year, but they brought back a similar version.  It is such a versatile piece.  It is perfect for any dressy look or for dressing up a casual look with a little bling.

An Evening of Fashion

A  few weeks ago, I had an opportunity to model for Outer Grace Boutique.  Two EE’s Winery was having a Little Black Dress Event showcasing various local boutiques. If you are local, you need to check out this even next year!  It was so much fun seeing everyone show up in their fanciest black dresses.  So many women were dressed to the nines and looked absolutely amazing!

I was able to choose my look for the evening, and I wanted to play with patterns.  As you all know that I love mixing patterns, and I wanted to showcase this during the evening.  I found this perfect striped top that when I pulled down the sleeves have thumb holes.  I knew this piece would be worn a ton layered with other pieces.  It was perfectly layered with this black floral kimono.  I loved the darker colors for winter and fall! I grabbed my leopard clutch from Simply 9 Designs to finish of this look.

To be honest, I was super nervous to participate in this event.  I didn’t want to be the older mom that was trying to be trendy.  Once I got to the event though, and met the other girls I was instantly at ease.  The entire evening was so much fun!  I got to meet some new ladies and step outside of my comfort zone.  At the end of the night, I was proud of myself for trying something new!  I have to thank Sarah from Outer Grace for the opportunity.  Sarah is one of the sweetest people I have met and I am so happy that I get to help support her boutique.
