I have been secretly obsessing over this dress ever since I found it on Loft’s website. I feel in love with the feminine details with the ruffled sleeves, and the faux wrap look. I kept telling myself that I couldn’t justify this dress at $100. The fact that it wasn’t school appropriate was the biggest road block in my mind. Unfortunately, the cold shoulder aspect of this dress is not appropriate for school.

Then came the 4th of July sale. I stopped in to see if there wasn’t anything I could live without. Again, I found myself eyeing this dress and decided to try it on. Secretly, I was hoping that I would hate the fit and I could move on. Unfortunately, I fell even more in love with this dress. I loved the fit and it made me feel girly! After I left Loft, I called hubby and told him I bought a total frivolous dress and he needed to take me on a date!
Last Friday evening, my mom offered to watch the boys so we decided a night out was a must! We went to dinner at my favorite Japanese Steakhouse. We ate way to much so we decided to go walk at Jefferson Pointe, our local outdoor mall. There was an outdoor concert so we got to enjoy some 80’s rock. Hubby was in heaven! I got so many compliments on this pretty dress it made it worth while.
I felt that this dress spoke for itself so I kept the accessories simple. I went with my favorite Kendra Scott necklace that adjusts to the perfect length. I then added Sugar Fix earrings to pull the look together. I loved how it turned out and I felt great about myself. What have you resisted buying only to give in and fall in love?
A few nights ago, I met up with some of my favorite ladies from work at a new restaurant in town. It seems like it has been ages since I have had a girl’s night out! With summer break, we tend to lose touch with the craziness. I know with the boys’ schedules there hasn’t been much downtime. I had a great time catching up with everyone. It was an evening spent laughing and chatting.

When deciding what to wear I knew that I want to wear jeans. I typically get really cold when I go to restaurants so I decided to dress in layers. I knew that I wanted to wear this kimono from Outer Grace Boutiquethat I picked up last week. I loved the floral details and the slight ruffled bottom! I was drawn to this kimono, because of the ruffles and the colors. This will be a great piece that I can transition into the early fall.
I debated between a cream tank or this bright yellow. I decided (with some help from friends) on the yellow. I love the color yellow, and whenever I wear it I feel happy! I also thought the yellow helped bring out some of the colors in the flowers.
I have been wanting to add turquoise to every look this summer. I decided to add it to this look through my Vera Bradley cross body. I love the additional pop of color that this bag brings to so many of my looks. Since I already had pops of color through my jewelry, top, and bag I wanted to keep my shoes neutrals. The cognac color with the gold details of these sandals were the perfect pair for this look.
I kept my accessories simple and went with some of my favorite pieces. This bracelet from Wink of Pinkis one that I wear on a weekly basis. It is perfect for creating fun arm parties. I decided to add my Kendra Scott bracelets for a finishing touch. What are your favorite looks for a girl’s night out?
When I saw this print at Loft I knew I needed to add it to my closet! This fun print came in a top, dress, and these darling shorts! All of these pieces are also currently 50% off. I have a thing for shorts that have a print to them, so of course I went with the shorts! I have worn them a few different ways that you can check out on Instagram, but I have loved this look the best.

I spend three mornings a week from 7:45- 12:00 at the ball diamond with my boys. Getting dressed in the morning on these days are always a bit tough, because temps drastically change in that 4 hour time frame. When I am in doubt on what to wear I go back to my summer uniform. This always includes cute shorts, a tank, and simple jewelry. What is your go to style in the summer?
SALE Alert: These shorts are currently 50%! All shorts at Loft are either 40, 50 or 60% off!
I have been wanting a pair of distressed denim shorts for a few summers now. I have not been able to find a pair though that fit my requirements. One I didn’t want to much distressing. I didn’t want all of my bits hanging out for the world to see! Two I needed a pair that were long enough! I hate the feeling of not being fully covered and having to pull down my shorts constantly. The last requirement was of course the overall fit! I have always loved Loft shorts so I was excited when I saw they had some with distressing. I knew I had to try this pair!

I ordered these shorts originally through my friend Kristin (@Kleightstyle) over the phone at her Loft. I went with my normal size 4, and waited anxiously for them to arrive. I was hoping to take them on spring break with me! They ended up arriving in time, but they were a tad snug. I wanted a looser fit and for the shorts to sit at my hips. I ended up taking them back and found them in my store! I tried a size 6 and the fit was exactly what I wanted.
I knew I would love these shorts, but I never thought I would want to wear them all the time! I have to force myself some days to choose another pair! They are incredibly comfortable, and I love the way they look with so many of my current clothes. They have definitely become a closet staple! How do you like to wear your distressed denim shorts?
We are a week into summer break, and I am loving every moment! I have been catching up on housework and decluttering! It hasn’t been all work though. On Monday, we went to the zoo with our cousins. It was our first trip of the year! We are very blessed to have an amazing children’s zoo. It is always fun to go and see what changes have been made since the previous year.
One of my favorite summer time looks is a crisp button up with a pair of distressed denim shorts. I was excited that the weather was going to be a bit cooler so I could wear this perfect button up from Shein. When I ordered this top I sized up to a large so I could wear it with leggings or skinny jeans. The top hits me mid-thigh when it is untucked. You can see how I styled it with colored jeans here.
For me clothes have to be comfortable. I know, I know I sound like a broken record. I learned long ago, if what I am wearing is uncomfortable I am less productive. This probably sounds odd I know, but uncomfortable shoe makes me want to sit. While tight clothes make me self-conscious. These Chucks were an easy choice for a trip to the zoo. My boys practically run through the zoo, and this momma has to keep up!
When out with the boys, I like to make sure I have both hands free. Hubby and I always said two was perfect for man-on-man defense. Also, when I am out alone with them I have one hand for each. As they have gotten older this has gotten to be less of an issue. I still love bags that I don’t have to fuss with. This Big Sky Backpack from Vera Bradley has become my go to mommy bag! It holds plenty of snacks, and of course all of my necessities!
In the summer, I like to keep my accessories simple. I like delicate pieces that can be worn alone or layered. I have become obsessed with Sugar Fix earrings! They make a statement, but are still simple enough to wear everyday! My Vera Bradley sunglasses are a constant accessory. I don’t leave the house without them! How do you like to accessorize in the summer?
