When I saw the Victoria Beckham line for Target I was adamant that I was not going shopping.  The items were adorable, but I had made the decision that I needed to cut back on my shopping.  I resisted until that evening when I went out of town for work and we had to stop at target.  I got the cutest lace bomber jacket.  Then, my sweet friend, Amanda from abcmomstyle got the bee scarf and I feel in love.  My first trip to my Target yielded no scarf, but my persistence paid off!  When I ran in real quick last weekend to grab some things for the boys’ Easter Basket I found this on on the rack.  It was the last one and you can bet I snatched it up!

I’ve been wanting to wear this scarf since it came home with me.  I love how it pairs with the Nina Eyelet Dress from Lavish and Luxe Boutique.  I don’t usually gravitate towards this color, but I wanted to give it a try!  I am so glad that I did!  The yellow and green colors are so fun together!  The fit is a swing style and is incredibly comfortable!  Use code MANDY15 for 15% off!

This week has been extremely busy with something every night!  Baseball and soccer have started for my oldest this week on top of a school concert and parent teacher conferences.  In addition to all of that, I have been packing for spring break top in Florida with my family.  I cannot wait for a whole week on the beach and sunny weather.  Be on the look out for some guest blog posts while I am gone this next week!  On top of that I get to see some of my favorite Instagram ladies before I leave for a girl’s night!

Every now and again, I love to play with pieces in my closet and style them in unexpected ways. This look from a few weeks ago was totally not planned, but I loved the outcome! For the wear what where style challenge for March the daily prompt was Moulin Rouge and I knew I wanted to add a touch of red to my outfit.  I don’t have a ton of red in my closet so I decided to get creative!

I had this dress from Nordstrom’s that I had only worn once, because it is hard to sit on the floor while wearing it at school.  I decided to see how it looked worn as a cardigan instead.  I instantly fell in love with the look.  The length is perfect with a dress underneath and adds visual interest.

The Carson Saddle Bag from Vera Bradley was the perfect addition to add a pop of color.  I love the way that red and turquoise pair together.  The colors are so bright yet contrast nicely together.   I am thinking I may try this open front dress with a tee and distressed jeans soon.  How do you wear pieces in unexpected ways?

How to Transition into Spring

In typical Indiana fashion you don’t know what the weather will be like from day-to-day.  The temperature will vary anywhere between warm 60 degree temps to cold  30 degrees.  If you are anything like me you are wanting to begin switching your closet over and begin dressing in all of your spring clothing!  Here are a few ways that I dress for spring when the weather won’t cooperate for dresses and sandals.

Tip # 1 Wear lighter colors

I love lighter colors for spring.  Neutrals are definitely my go to color when I am ready for spring.  This sweater from Shein is perfect to transition into spring.  It has fun zipper details that adds interest.  I like to keep my clothing lighter so I can add fun pieces to brighten up my look.

Tip # 2 Add Bright Accessories

I love to help brighten up my looks for spring with accessories.  Purses can be the perfect pop of color.  The Carson Saddle Bag from Vera Bradley is gorgeous and perfect for every day use.  The turquoise color goes with just about anything!

Clothed From Grace

I am urging spring on this week through my clothing.  I am hoping that the bright colors and spring patterns will help spur warmer weather.  If this doesn’t work at least I have spring break in less than 2 weeks!  I cannot wait until I am laying on the beach watching my boys play!

I was so excited to find out that the ladies from Clothed from Grace are originally from my hometown!  This top from is so perfectly my style.  I love the boho feel and the flowy fit!  I have been obsessed with bell sleeves lately, and the crochet back adds a gorgeous detail that is a little unexpected.  Use code SHOPAHOLICMA for 15% off your purchase.

Since it was a school day and I cannot wear jeans I threw on my go to black skinnies.  At some point I want to try this top with a pair of wide legged jeans and wedges!

When I wear flowier pieces I love to keep my jewelry fun.  this Triangle Double Necklace from Vera Bradley that added a touch of color with the turquoise.  Then to add a lengthening look I added my Aiden necklace by Kendra Scott.  Since the sleeves were shorter an arm party was a must!

Since it is now spring I had to add another pop of color with the Carson Saddle Bag by Vera Bradley.  This has been my go to bag in recent days.  Even though the color is bright it adds the perfect pop of color to my looks that I am craving.  How are you dressing for spring?

Anorak Jacket: Closet Staple + Life

Life has been extremely crazy over the last few weeks!  We’ve had state testing going on at school, birthday celebrations, and just normal crazy life.  I had to take a step back from blogging for a few weeks to stay ahead of everything at home.  We are going to be starting baseball and soccer soon so I know that my posts may be sparse.  My hope is to post 1-2 times a week, but we will see.  Please check in over on Instagram and Facebook to keep up with daily outfit inspiration!  Once summer arrives I should have more time to blog regularly!

This week I found myself reaching for my Anorak Jacket two different times. This jacket is one of those closet staples that I can wear pretty much all year.  It can be dressed up with a sweater, accessories, and a pair of booties.

Nike Shoes: Option 1 || Option 2 || Option 3 ||

It can also worn casually with leggings and a pair of athletic shoes.  This is one of my favorite ways to be comfortable, yet still look put together.

The anorak jacket is also the perfect piece for layering on a day that starts off cool and ends warm.  The olive green is a neutral and goes with just about every color out there.  It pairs perfectly with other neutrals, brights, and pastels. What is your favorite way to wear your anorak jacket?

If you don’t have one, but are looking for the perfect one I have linked a few below!
