December has been a crazy month! Between getting ready for the holidays, ending the semester at school, and battling a few illnesses it has been awhile since I have done an Instagram Review. Here are a few of my favorite post over the last few weeks. Many of these pieces are currently on sale!
I am teaming up today with Tiff from Bright on a Budget to bring you New Year’s Eve outfit inspiration! You can check out her look here! My New Year’s Eve is normally pretty tame and boring. Last year, we didn’t even make it to midnight. Most of our New Year’s Eves are spent at home or hanging out at a friend’s house. Since we are normally pretty laid back, I wanted to style an outfit that was casual yet comfortable. I decided to take one outfit and make it casual and a little more dressy.
This first look is perfectly casual and comfortable all rolled into one! For both looks I kept the main pieces the same, but changed out shoes and accessories. I started with my favorite skinny jeans and added this lace sleeved top from Lane201. Then to make the look a little more pulled together look I added my fur vest from Loft (currently 50%).
In this first look, I decided to keep the accessories minimal and to keep the shoes comfortable. Most of our time when we gather is spent in the kitchen standing around the island. If I am going to be spending long periods of time standing flats are a must! I love these over the knee boots from Nordstrom. They are extremely comfortable and are currently 40% off!
Not much changed in the second look. I switched out my accessories for bolder pieces. I wanted to add bigger earrings to make more of a statement. I normally would have added a little sparkle, but I decided to step outside of the box with this choker from Etikka. I love the simple elegance that it added to this look.
To dress up this look even more I added my favorite pair of Clark’s booties! If I have to wear heels they must be comfortable! These are my go to heels when trying to dress up a look, but still remain comfortable. This year, I am not sure if I will be wearing this look or if I will be staying home in my pjs. What will you be doing for New Year’s Eve and what will you be wearing?

Merry Christmas! I wanted to take some time to thank those of you who read this blog and keep up with me through Instagram and Facebook. All of the comments here and in person mean so much to me! Words cannot express my gratitude! Thank you, for allowing me to share my passion of clothes and fashion. I am constantly amazed that so many people follow along!
Here is a look at my Christmas Eve outfit. I love that we dress up for dinner and I get to pull out some of my heels I don’t wear that often! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends! Ours was one of the best and full of wonderful traditions!
We start with Christmas Eve dinner with my husband’s family at a local favorite Japanese restaurant. His family has been going for 32 years! This was a tradition that was started with his grandmother that we’ve continued even after she passed away. Now my grandmother is invited and joins in the tradition.
After dinner, we head to my parents house where the kids receive PJ’s from Santa. It is always crazy with all the kids filled with excitement! We are now up to 8 grandkids 9 and under! It is fun seeing them running around together and ripping into their presents!
Christmas morning is my favorite time! I absolutely love coming out and seeing the presents piled around the tree! That is one of my favorite Christmas memories from when I was little. I always hated when my brothers woke up ahead of me and sorted the presents before I woke up! Now my parents come to our house in the morning. I love that we still spend it together. I can’t imagine not having them there.
After the morning festivities, we head to my grandmother’s house. You never know what you are going to receive with my grandmother. She recently has downsized her house and decided to wrap up random presents for everyone to open. We received a flashlight and a photo album. Grandma this year, also wrapped up some of her shoe collection to share with some of us who were teasing her about her old lady shoes!
Then in the evening,we head to my husband’s parents house. This year, they switched things up for everyone by wrapping everyone’s presents in the same paper. The kids had to follow a legend and find all of their gifts. The kids thought this was a lot of fun!
I love hearing what others do for the holiday. What are your family traditions?

There is nothing that makes me feel more feminine than a skirt and a pair of heels. Finding a skirt that fits well is hard, but I have found that my favorite style is an a-line. You will see a whole section of this silhouette gracing my closet. I love to pair my skirts with a close-fitting top to keep a sleek look on the top to help balance the fullness of an a-line skirt.
A-line skirts are a girl’s best friend! This cut works for EVERY woman! No matter of your shape, age, or size! Here are the top 6 reasons to wear an a-line skirt:
Gives or accentuates an hourglass figure.
They flow away from hips and thighs.
Helps hide bulges.
Comfortable to wear.
They can be dressed up or down depending what top you wear.
Can be worn with many types of shoes!
This one from StyleWe will have a permanent spot in my closet. I love the fit and pattern! The colors are perfect and I cannot wait to style it in many different ways! What are you favorite types of skirts to wear?

Red and green have always seemed like a fashion no to me, until Ugly Sweaters became a thing. As much as I love a tacky sweater at Christmas time, I wanted to play around with these holiday color staples. Pairing red and green together can feel like holiday overload, but when done with moderation can be done without looking like a Christmas card.
I’ve put together 4 red and green outfits that share a different tip to pair these colors in a creative way, so that you can dress festive for the holiday season!
Plaid is a great way to bring red and green to any look. There are so many fun plaids out right now that combine these two colors together! Right now all of these pieces are on sale! You can shop the links above or below in Shop this post section.
When all else fails layer! I love wearing layers to help add diversity to a look. Find traditional pieces that are red and green to pair together. This red vest and plaid scarf are closet staples that bring holiday cheer when paired together. Add a neutral like navy to break apart the bold colors and tie everything together. The vest and tunic are currently on sale! How do you bring red and green into your daily style during the holiday season?
